What is C.P.T.E.D.?

C.P.T.E.D. is an acronym for Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. “CPTED is the anticipation, recognition and appraisal of crime risk and initiation of some action to remove or reduce the risk"“ NICP.

Why is CPTED important?

CPTED changes back abnormal places being used for abnormal uses, and replaces them with normal usages to make a normal place again. CPTED decreases the likelihood of criminal offenses occurring, and the likelihood of offenders alluding apprehension.

Where can CPTED be applied?

From Buildings to entire cities, CPTED, improves safety for all. CPTED has common sense principles, that improve quality of life and make locations more lucrative for businesses to be placed in, or citizens to live in.

How is CPTED applied?

We conduct visual surveying of locations starting with the 4 Pillars of CPTED. Natural Surveillance, where we find ways to maximize visibility with lighting and eliminating obstacles. Access Control to guide appropriate users. Territorial Reinforcement to display ownership while defining space and usage. Maintenance to define purpose and again ownership.
